Anyone But Keanu for Constantine

[mood |thoughtfulthoughtful]

Did you know that Constantine was modelled on Sting in the first place? If you think of the yobbo he plays in Quadrophenia it begins to make sense...

However, since Sting is now a)quite aged; b)a crap actor; and c)a total adult-contemporary sellout, I would humbly suggest James Marsters. He might not appreciate the type-casting, but it's such a yummy type, after all.

Daniel Radcliffe would have been good for Tim at one point but is now looking far too healthily heart-throbby. Tim should look sort-of underfed and snivelly, in my opinion. I will keep thinking about a suitable alternate.

Eh, he can look underfed with a little effort.

James Marsters or Anthony Stewart Head are totally on my list.
About JM it is totally typecasting because it's hard to look at Spike and not see Constantine. Except Constantine is more of a bad-ass.

I still am having gleeful fun telling people that the redeeming feature of Keanu as Constantine is Lawrence Fishbourne's cameo as Morpheus. Shannon went into mental pain when I made her promise to suggest this idea to her husband.

You are evil incarnate. Yes you are, don't try to deny it!

James Marsters would be truly, truly excellent as Constantine. Thank you for being one of the few people besides me who thinks so.

I didn't mind Keanu much; he's so blatantly wrong that I simply wrote him off as being an alternate version entirely, and if you accept the fact that he isn't the real John Constantine, the movie is pretty damn good.
